Description
Background Kvæfjord, Ibestad and Tjeldsund municipalities need to establish new delivery contracts for food items as the existing contract is about to expire. The procurement shall ensure continuity and predictable supply of goods for the municipality ́s service locations, so that operation can be maintained with stable deliveries throughout the entire year. The contracts shall support the municipality ́s goal of a more efficient and user-friendly ordering and delivery process, including simpler orders and more efficient goods reception in the units, without this being at the cost of quality, food safety or traceability. At the same time, the municipality has a goal of increasing the proportion of local products where available and appropriate within the regulations, as well as reducing food waste through better interaction in the value chain. Tenderers must therefore understand that the procurement shall ensure both a broad and robust supply need and facilitate environmental and social considerations in the delivery. Description of the assignment The assignment is for the delivery of food articles to Kvæfjord municipality for use in schools and nurseries, canteens and at meetings/events, as well as institutional kitchens and health and care services. The delivery shall cover a relevant and seasonal adapted assortment that supports daily operations in different types of units. The procurement is for foodstuffs in the main categories such as dry products, refrigerating and freezer products, fruits/vegetables and fresh produce, as well as dairy, egg and topping products, including products for allergens and special food when required by the municipality. The contract structure can cover sub-contracts per product group. The delivery shall, in total, ensure security of supplies, good delivery quality and a practically feasible ordering and delivery model for the municipality ́s units, and at the same time allow for increased use of local products and measures that contribute to reduced food waste.
